Firecracker microVM live per-test verdicts multi-file compile

MariaDB is the community-maintained fork of MySQL; the wire protocol and SQL dialect are compatible with MySQL, so tutorials, drivers, and `mysql://` connection strings written for MySQL work here unchanged.

ls-judge runs MariaDB 11.4 LTS inside a Firecracker microVM. Every submission gets its own InnoDB instance seeded with a `playground` database (users + orders fixtures); writes vanish when the VM dies, so you can experiment without caution.

FAQ

Common questions about MariaDB on ls-judge

MariaDB or MySQL?
MariaDB 11.4 LTS. Wire-protocol and SQL compatible with MySQL 8 for the overwhelming majority of queries. We may add a dedicated MySQL runtime if there is demand.
Pre-loaded data?
Yes — database `playground` with tables users(id, name, email) and orders(id, user_id, total, placed_at).
Storage engine?
InnoDB (default), with the buffer pool tuned small so the server fits in a 512 MB microVM.
Persistent DB?
No — the server is destroyed when the VM is torn down.
Free?
Yes.
